Course Description

In 1991, the Soviet Union collapsed and the Cold War was over. As one of the most integral periods of modern history, the Cold War continues to influence contemporary foreign policy and international relations for the United States, Russia and the rest of the world. But what was the Cold War really about? Why did it happen? And why did it end when it did, and the way it did? This purpose of this course is to shed light on these and other questions associated with the 45-year duel between the Superpowers.
