Mike Dennis--Department of Government
As universities continue to curtail funding opportunities for graduate students, especially for extended fieldwork, foreign language and/or methods training, or dissertation write-up support, the ability to secure external funds has become increasingly important. Michael Dennis will discuss tips and strategies for winning external funding grants and fellowships such as the Fulbright, Fulbright-Hays, NSEP-Boren (National Security Education Program), IREX-IARO (International Research & Exchanges Board, Individual Advanced Research Opportunities), FLAS (Foreign Language and Area Study), SSRC (Social Science Research Council) Dissertation Write-Up Fellowship, and NSF (National Science Foundation).
Mike Dennis is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Government. He has done extensive research abroad, receiving funding from, among others, Fulbright, IREX-IARO, FLAS, SSRC, and several more.
