While playing music from Bosnia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Macedonia, and their home base of Serbia, they create a "dynamic blend of traditional instruments, rock'n'roll in attitude, fueled on dance beats and rooted in Balkan blues - a mix of traditional and modern urban elements.

Romani Routes is a project of Voice of Roma, a nonprofit organization based in Sebastopol, California. The aim of Romani Routes is to present the virtuosity of Romani musicians and the richness and depth of Romani music in a way that counteracts the hype of the mythologized "Gypsy". Romani Routes also seeks to lead the way against exploitation of Romani musicians by ensuring connections among the musicians, Romani culture, and the cause of Romani rights.

Third in the Russian series inspired by Michael Apted's British series "7 Up," this documentary presents young people from all socio-economic levels and from disparate parts of the former Soviet Union.

Mr. Miroshnichenko teaches documentary film direction at the State Institute of Cinematography in Moscow. He is Secretary of the Russian Cinematographers Union and an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
