26th Annual Texas Wendish Festival

We at CREEES are pleased to announce that the Texas Wendish Heritage Society will be hosting the 26th Annual Wendish Festival on Sunday, September 28 in Serbin, Texas!
The festival will include a silent auction, a coffee cake bake-off, a washer-pitching contest, a cross-cut saw contest, Wendish Easter egg decorating, and lunch. Snacks including sausage, sauerkraut, noodles, drumsticks, and drinks will be available, and there will be demonstrations of stone grinding, sauerkraut and noodle making, vintage machinery, spinning, quilting, blacksmithing, soap making, and sausage stuffing. Children's activities will also be available, including a pole-climbing contest, a coloring contest, face painting, and stick horse races. Music and entertainment will be provided by The Oak Wilt Boys.
The St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin will offer a church service in English at 8:30 AM, and a second service in German at 10:30 AM. The church will be open for tours from 12:30-2:30 PM, and the Wendish Heritage Museum will be open to visitors from 10 AM to 5 PM.
