Join CREEES as we explore the films of Vladimir Vysotsky, beloved Russian poet, actor, and underground folk singer. Films will be shown on the first Tuesday of the month (Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec) at 7pm in GRG 102. The Geography Building is at the corner of 24th and Whitis.
"Korotkiye Vstrechi" (Brief Encounters"). The lives of two women, one a regional bureaucrat, the other a simple country girl, are intertwined with the life of Maxim, a free-spirited guitar-strumming geologist. This film also stars Kira Muratova, who directed the film. Banned by the Soviet censors for 20 years, it was only released under Gorbachev. (1967, 96 min)
