AAASS Essay Contest Applications Now Available

The American Association for the Advancement of Slavic Studies is holding an essay contest for students currently enrolled in (or recently graduated from) an undergraduate program, or students currently enrolled in a graduate program. Essays may deal with any aspect of Slavic Studies - history, politics, art, religion, culture, literature, economics, etc. Undergraduate essays must have been submitted for a regularly scheduled course during the 2005-2006 academic year; graduate essays may be written in connection with coursework, thesis or dissertation research, or for presentation at a scholarly meeting. Both graduate and undergraduate essays may also be submitted by the supervising instructor on behalf of the student. Undergraduates can win a $250 award as well as a certificate of recognition; graduate students can win a $250 award as well as membership in AAASS for the upcoming year.
