The Roma Education Center in Zagreb will be christened "The Roma Educational Youth Center 'Dr. Ian Hancock.'"

In honor of the work that Dr. Ian Hancock has performed with the Roma communities throughout Europe, the Roma Education Center in Zagreb will be christened "The Roma Educational Youth Center 'Dr. Ian Hancock.'" The Center will focus on English language learning, reading and the implementation of soft skills.
Dr. Hancock has focused his career on the research of Roma populations. He is the director of U.T.'s Romani Archives and Documentation Center, as well as a Commissioner on the Texas State Holocaust and Genocide Commission and member of the Vienna-based Roma Parliament. Some of his writings have been published in "Danger! Educated Gypsy! A Selection of Essays," edited by Dileep Karanth. He is author of "We Are the Romani People" and co-author of "A History of the Romanies."
