Your gifts to the Center for Women’s and Gender Studies help create committed communities that address the challenges faced in the areas of gender, sexuality, diversity, and equity. Gifts designated for the Center for Women’s and Genders Studies help preserve and enhance programming, course development, fund endowments, and support outreach initiatives.
Your contribution will help CWGS to reach its goal of establishing a permanent funding structure for our programs. Under the strong leadership of the director, associate director, and steering committee, CWGS is poised to rise to the ranks of the best women's and gender studies programs in the country. With additional support, the Center can build on its considerable teaching and research strengths and continue its trajectory towards academic excellence and community programming.
Ways to Give
Cash, Checks, Credit Cards
Outright gifts of cash, by check or credit card, are the easiest gifts to make. They are also tax deductible in the year given. UT Austin also gratefully accepts pledges — gifts that are paid over time. You can make a pledge commitment and set up a payment schedule that works best for you. To make a gift by credit card, you can give now using our secure server, or call 800-687-4602 and provide your credit card information over the phone.
Endowments at The University of Texas at Austin are a sound investment in a better future. With an endowed gift, you provide permanent support for the University. Your gift is invested — never spent — and each year a distribution, like dividends on a mutual fund account, is made to your chosen program or area. Investment earnings above the dividend rate help the endowment value grow over time, to keep pace with inflation and maintain your endowment’s spending power.
You may take up to five years to fund an endowment, and once it is officially established, you or anyone else may continue to add to its principal at any time. Moreover, by selecting the title of your endowment, you can forever link your name, or that of a family member, friend, or organization, to scholarly excellence at the University.
Gifts of Stock Gifts of appreciated securities and closely held stock can be extremely beneficial — both to you and to UT Austin. You may receive an income-tax deduction equal to the fair market value of the securities, as well as reduce or eliminate capital gains taxes. The UT System Office of Development and Gift Planning Services coordinate gifts of stock and mutual funds. Proceeds from the sale of these assets are directed to any program you wish. Please contact Charlotte Hambrick at 512-499-4300 for more information.
Planned Gifts can be made now or deferred to a later time. Some enable you to support UT Austin, receive tax benefits, and sustain your current lifestyle. Such gifts include bequests through a will, retirement plan assets, and charitable trusts. For more information contact UT’s Gift Planning team at 866-488-3927.
If you would like to make a lasting impact on UT and future generations of Longhorns, a gift made in your estate plan could be the perfect option for you. This type of charitable gift arrangement allows you to make a gift now or after your lifetime while enjoying financial benefits for yourself and your loved ones.
Matching Gifts Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees. To find out if your company has a matching gift policy, please enter your employer’s name below. You may be able to double or even triple your gift to UT. Many employers sponsor matching gift programs to match charitable contributions made by their employees.
