Proposed Timeline for Student Participation
The first academic year (sophomore):
- “Diversity and Leadership in a Global Environment” seminar
- Receive leadership training
- Intern with a nonprofit (or other approved) organization
- Attend a conference
- Volunteer at approved organizations
- Conduct a study, research project, or creative writing component
- Present at the CWGS Emerging Scholarship Student Conference
- Attend an out-of-state conference
- Partner with a UT professor or community leader – ideally with someone in their field or major
**Summer before Senior Year - Volunteer with an international non-profit doing humanitarian aid that specifically supports women
During the third year (senior):
- Organize a lecture
- Help organize a leadership institute
- Attend a leadership conference
- Completing the circle, the young women themselves serve as mentors
