Course Description

This seminar on the history and culture of American Youth organizations is designed for students in the Graduate Portfolio Program in Nonprofit and Philanthropic Studies as well as students in anthropology, American Studies, Women's and Gender Studies and other disciplines who are interested in the cultural construction of childhood and adolescence; continuities and changes in children's culture, gender roles, adolescence, and play; and opportunities and challenges facing contemporary youth organizations.
