Course Description
An interdisciplinary analysis of significant social, economic, and political issues. Consideration of liberal, conservative, and centrist views concerning the major family policy issues facing the United States and other advanced industrial societies. CONTAINS A SUBSTANTIAL WRITING COMPONENT AND FULFILLS PART OF THE BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT IN WRITING. UPPER-DIVISION STANDING REQUIRED. COURSE NUMBER MAY BE REPEATED FOR CREDIT WHEN THE TOPICS VARY. CONSIDERATION OF LIBERAL, CONSERVATIVE, AND CENTRIST VIEWS CONCERNING THE MAJOR FAMILY POLICY ISSUES FACING THE UNITED STATES AND OTHER ADVANCED INDUSTRIAL SOCIETIES. SAME AS SOC 352M (TOPIC 5).
