WGS 301 • 5-CHILD DEVELOPMENT
HDF 313 will survey the biological and environmental factors that shape the development of children from conception to adolescence. You will learn about the following areas of development: biological, cognitive, linguistic, emotional, and social. You will also learn about the factors that promote or hinder development. The course requires a lab, HDF 113L, which must be taken concurrently. The lab provides students with the opportunity to observe children's play and social interactions, to learn objective observational techniques, and to apply concepts learned in class to their observations.
