WGS 345 • Women Through Life Cycle-W
2:00 PM-3:30 PM
In this course we will write and read about womens lives, using literary works and psychology and sociology as our base for exploring. In particular, we will examine four stages in a womans life: 1) Childhood--growing into a person by first bonding with and then separating from parents, 2) Youth--achieving self-identity and living the dreams of love and romance, 3) Adulthood--achieving fulfillment through marriage, motherhood and career, 4) Old Age--continuing to grow despite declining prospects created by aging or living alone. For each stage we will discuss at least one award-winning autobiography, biography, or literary work. And we will write in response to each stage.
