Longhorn Leaders Day
Sat, April 6, 2013 • 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM • UT Austin Campus
Kappa Delta Chi is a Latina founded sorority that has been on campus since 1998. Longhorn Leaders Day has been held on the UT campus since 1999. The conference brings in minority high schools girls from in and around the Austin area and provides them with workshops and educational perspectives that will encourage them to attend college. Workshops range from professional to educational to team building. At the end of the event there is a panel where the students in attendance can ask questions to sisters of Kappa Delta Chi, many of whom were in same socioeconomic status as the girls we bring in. The conference also awards two high school seniors with scholarships so that they may pursue a degree in higher education.
