Principal scholarly and research interests:

New Media production, video production, performance, installation, gender and sexuality with emphasis on Transgender, and fantasy/science fiction. All my current work involves making stuff, though inevitably the stuff is theory-laden. Recent work can be viewed at:

The two New Media courses I teach each semester are combinations of theory and making, with emphasis on making. All my courses involve elements of boundary transgression, epistemic rupture, and play. In no particular order, the complete current list is:

Trans: Boundary crossings and sense(s) of self
Weird Science: Action in the space between "real" and pseudo science
Blackbox: How facts become real and how things mean
PostModern Gothic: Monsters, desire, and epistemic rupture
Death: Change and corruption writ large
Soundscapes: Practicum in sound installation theory and practice
Performance: Practicum in street theatre with a documentary component
When Cultures Collide: Building cooperative multinational websites
