Research Clusters
Gender and Technology
This research cluster explores the interaction between gender and technology in contemporary social theory, empirical research, and work practice. The cluster promotes the interdisciplinary work of faculty and students in areas such as gender studies, engineering and computer science, information studies, anthropology, literary studies, communication, politics, sociology, business, philosophy, cultural studies, and public affairs. Participants in the cluster examine the relationship between gender and technology from various perspectives, including narrative and metaphor, design and gender, the invisibility of information work in organizations, the history of technology, and gender and reading (e.g., book clubs), digital and reproductive technologies, and public health.
