Deborah Hay, a seminal figure in American modern dance since her participation in the Judson Dance Theater in the 1960’s, is a noted choreographer and performer whose iconic works have been written about in dance history books, magazines and online media. A performance and symposium sponsored by the Center for Women’s and Gender Studies at The University of Texas at Austin and co-sponsored by the Office of Graduate Studies, College of Fine Arts, Department of Theater and Dance, and UT’s Performance as Public Practice took place on April 7 & 8, 2009.
