CEAS Kicks Off Fall Seminar Series
Alan Tansman of the University of California, Berkeley is the first speaker in series

This fall semester seminar series begins on September 9th, 2011 with Alan Tansman from the University of California at Berkeley. His talk is titled On Comparative Catastrophe: Japanese and Jewish Responses to War. The talk begins at 3:30 in the Meyerson Conference Room, WCH 4.118. A reception will be held before the talk at 3:00 p.m.
Other seminar speakers this semester include Hoi-eun Kim and Hiroshi Ono from Texas A&M University; Michael Shapiro, a visiting Lecturer from UC-San Diego teaching at UT this year; acclaimed Taiwanese filmmaker Peggy Chiao; and Will Bridges from Princeton University.
