Asian Studies Southern Consortium
Second Annual Workshop to be held at UT-Austin

The second annual workshop for the Asian Studies Southern Consortium will be held at UT-Austin over the weekend of January 27th and 28th. The sponsors and organizers include Rice University Ting Tsung and Wei Fong Chao Center for Asian Studies; the Center for East Asian Studies at UT-Austin; the Center for Asian American Studies at UT-Austin; and the South Asia Institute at UT-Austin. The goal of the consortium is to explore pathways of collaboration and sharing faculty research between UT and Rice University.
UT-Austin faculty giving panel discussions include Kirsten Cather (Asian Studies), Madeline Hsu (Asian American Studies, History) Nhi Lieu (American Studies, Asian American Studies, and Women's and Gender Studies), Yun-Chiahn Sena (Art History), Snehal Shigavi (English), and Rupert Snell (Asian Studies, Hindi Urdu Flagship Program).
Rice University faculty giving panel discussions include Lisa Balabanlilar (History), Anne S. Chao (History), and Satira Mehta (Center for the Study of Languages).
Also giving a panel discussion from Southern Methodist University in Dallas is Azfar Moin (History).
The consortium takes place in the Meyerson Conference Room, WCH 4.118.
