ABOUT THE AWARD*
On behalf of the Center for European Studies, the School of Undergraduate Studies is pleased to announce an open competition for course development funds to create a new Signature Course (UGS 302 or 303). The course theme should address ethical leadership in the European Union and/or in EU-US relations. Applications may come from any college or school on campus, and the selected instructor may use the award to support costs associated with course development (i.e. travel, books, research expenses, etc.).
COURSE REQUIREMENTS
The proposed course must:
- Be a course that has never been previously taught.
- Focus on the European Union (if comparative, the course must focus on the EU and the US).
- Meet all of the Course Essentials for Signature Courses.
- Meet the criteria for the Ethics and Leadership flag.
- Be offered at least two times beginning with either the fall 2012 or spring 2013 semester.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
All interested applicants should:
- Submit their course for consideration according to the guidelines for all Signature Course proposals.
- Propose their course for an Ethics and Leadership flag.
- Complete the attached one-page application form and send it electronically to Patty Micks (patty@austin.utexas.edu), Coordinator for the Signature Course Program.
DEADLINE
All parts of the course proposal application must be completed by October 3, 2011.
