Bastille Day 2010
Sat, July 17, 2010 • 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM • 802 San Marcos Street, Austin
Presented by Alliance Francaise D'Austin
The Bastille Day festival is Austin’s premier cultural event for local Francophiles, friends and all Austinites. This year’s festival will feature live music by Austin’s own Olivier Giraud and his band Continental Graffiti, one of Austin’s top jazz bands. Guests will feast on scrumptious French foods from Pascal’s Catering and Café Crêpe, and enjoy fine French wines and refreshments.
Activities include live music and dancing, Pétanque (traditional French game), performances from puppet troupe “Bric-a-Brac,” a silent auction hosted by the Legation, and a lively singing of “La Marseillaise,” the French National Anthem, all to commemorate the anniversary of the French Revolution.
Proceeds from this event will go to the Alliance Française d’Austin’s Frederique Moinard Scholarship Fund. Proceeds from the silent auction support the Historic French Legation, the official home of the representative of the French government during the Republic of Texas era. The Historic French Legation is located at 802 San Marcos Street, Austin, Texas, 78702.
