Third Central Texas Cervantes Symposium
Fri, October 5, 2012
The Cervantes Society of America announces the Third Central Texas Cervantes Symposium, to be held on campus on Friday, October 5, with a second day off campus on Saturday, October 6. The CSA sponsors four national symposia annually, and we are fortunate to be able to host this event for a third consecutive year.
All sessions are open to the public. Friday's events will be held in BEN 2.104. Saturday afternoon's sessions will be held at the Wizard Academy, off campus. If you wish to attend the off-campus program, please let me know so I may inform our hosts of how many guests to expect.
The symposium brings together scholars from the US and Canada who represent a diverse array of research agendas and areas of expertise. This year's program includes scholarly sessions devoted to Cervantes beyond Spain, print culture, religion and ethics, race and identity, and the emerging field of cognitive literary-cultural studies.
