Fri, February 14, 2014 • 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM • HRC, UT Austin Campus
Opening celebration for the spring exhibit
The Harry Ransom Center hosts "Love & War," the opening celebration for its spring exhibition "The World at War, 1914-1918," on Friday, February 14, from 7 to 9 p.m. Become a member now to receive a complimentary ticket and valet parking for this celebration.
Be among the first to view the World War I exhibition. Drawing on the Ransom Center's extensive collections, this exhibition illuminates the experience of the war from the point of view of its participants and observers, preserved through letters, drafts, and diaries; memoirs and novels; and photographs and propaganda posters.
Enjoy light bites inspired by international cuisine and sip one of our signature cocktails. Listen to hand-cranked phonographs, pose in the photo booth, and keep warm with coffee and doughnuts inspired by the wartime "Doughnuts for Doughboys" campaign. Enter to win an exclusive prize package that includes a stay at Hotel Havana, a wine and cheese pairing for two at Henri's, handcrafted chocolates from the Chocolate Makers Studio, and more.
