Texas-EU Business Summit 2014

The 2014 Texas-EU Business Summit provides small businesses, policymakers and economic development professionals with an overview of how to target trade and expansion business opportunities in Europe.

Texas is the second-largest exporting state to the EU. The summit will focus on promoting and building the international trade capacity of Texas-based small businesses and economic development organizations while creating greater awareness regarding the benefits of exporting.

A few quick facts:

  • Total Texas export to the EU in 2012 exceeded $36.3 billion an increase of 9.8 billion in the past two years.
  • Top Texas exports consisted of petroleum and coal products – 31.7%, chemicals – 21.1%, computers and electronics – 13.9%, machinery – 10.3%, and all others 23%
  • The Netherlands, UK, and France are the leading FDI sources in Texas.

The 2014 Texas-EU Business Summit sessions will be led by international trade policy experts, political and business leaders, and officials from various EU countries’ chambers of commerce.
