Professor Claudio Magris Lecture

Professor Claudio Magris, an expert on Central Europe from the University of Trieste, will present a lecture entitled "Between the Danube and the Sea: The Journey of a Writer."

Nobel-Prize candidate Claudio Magris is Professor of Modern German Literature at the University of Trieste, Italy. He has published seminal studies on the relationship between Italian and Germanic cultures and on the importance of Central Europe's cultural milieu.

Dr. Costica Bradatan

UT is pleased to welcome Dr. Costica Bradatan, Assistant Professor of Humanities at Texas Tech University. The talk will explore a history of the martyr-philosophers (Socrates, Hypatia, Giordano Bruno, Edith Stein) along with a phenomenological interpretation of their gesture.

CANCELLED - German Renewable Energy Exhibit

Together with German energy companies, the German Energy Agency (Deutsche Energie-Agentur DENA) has created an exhibition about renewable energy called "Renewables Made in Germany". The exhibit is traveling throughout the U.S. and will be in Austin, on the UT campus, from February 26 though March 9 on the first floor of the Flawn Academic Center.
