The LRC Turns 50 in 2011

The Linguistics Research Center was formally established in 1961 -- although initial funding for work in machine translation (MT) was received, and research began, in 1959 or earlier. Therefore, the LRC celebrates the 50th anniversary of its founding in 2011.
The MT link above leads to an historical overview of early research at the LRC; our brochure describes the LRC and its history & activities more generally. If and as we plan more formal observances of our semicentennial this year, we will update this blog page with particulars.
