Professor Edgar C. Polomé, Christie and Stanley E. Adams, Jr., Centennial Professor Emeritus in Liberal Arts, distinguished linguist, Indo-Europeanist, and professor of comparative religions and languages, died of an osteosarcoma at the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, on Saturday, March 11, 2000. (more)
