The Lord's Prayer

Perhaps the best-known Indo-European prayer is the Lord's Prayer, a Christian prayer originally attested in New Testament Greek from a lost Aramaic original.

Matt. 6:9-13
Πάτερἡμῶνἐντοῖςοὐρανοῖς  
Fatherof uswhointheheaven  
        
ἁγιασθήτωτὸὄνομασου    
hallowed bethenameof you.    
        
ἐλθέτωβασιλείασου    
let comethekingdomof you.    
        
γενηθήτωτὸθέλημασου    
let happenthewillof you,    
        
ὡςἐνοὐρανῷκαὶἐπὶγῆς  
asinheavenandonearth.  
        
τὸνἄρτονἡμῶντὸνἐπιούσιονδὸςἡμῖνσήμερον
thebreadof usthedaily-dolegiveto ustoday.
        
καὶἄφεςἡμῖντὰὀφειλήματαἡμῶν  
andremitto usthedebtsof us,
