Dr. Han specializes in how social relationships are linked with health risk behaviors and mental health among adolescents, particularly underserved youth. She has conducted research on substance-use behavior among Chilean and Korean adolescents, as well as mental health issues related to discrimination among youths of color in the United States. Her research has a focus on developing intervention programs and social policies. At the University of Texas, she works with Dr. Aprile Benner to examine the interplay between social contexts and social relationships in determining the psychosocial wellbeing of racially and ethnically diverse adolescents.
In 2013, she will begin a faculty position at Sung Kyun Kwan University in Korea.
