Bo La is a doctoral student in Educational Policy and Planning. Her research interests include education inequality and opportunity for minorities and immigrants, parenting practices, early education, shadow education, multicultural education, dropout, Asian American education, intergenerationality, and demography. Specifically, her current research interests center on how the family environments of immigrants, such as cultural originality, socioeconomic status, family structure, and residential segregation, affect children's academic achievements and dropout rates across generations and within ethnic subgroups. She is also interested in the factors that affect social integration and intergroup relations of immigrants. Before working as a researcher in the Ministry of Education in Korea and Korean Educational Development Institute, she received her B.A. in English Language and Literature from Chungnam National University and her Master's in Educational Administration from Yonsei University.
