Yu Chen

Yu Chen is a first-year Ph.D student at the sociology department. He finished his M.A program in Latin American Studies in UT-Austin, in 2011, with a thesis discussing the self-employment and petty entrepreneurship in Havana. His current interests are focused on urbanization in China, Mexico and Cuba, especially on issues of housing, internal migration and population's response to urban spatial expansion. In the future, he would like to dedicate himself to doing comparative studies between China and Latin America.
