Viviana Salinas Awarded Dissertation Fellowship
Viviana Salinas was awarded a fellowship from the Compton Foundation and the Population Reference Bureau for work on Population, Environment, and Human Security.
The Compton Foundation/PRB International Fellowship award is for "for capstone/internship work and dissertation research on topics that examine the interactions linking population dynamics/family planning/reproductive health with environmental and/or human security issues." The proposal Viviana submitted was for her dissertation project to investigate the causes and consequences of the dramatic increase in non-marital childbearing that has occurred in Chile by way of a postpartum survey to be conducted in several hospitals in Santiago.
