REU Program Receives Another 3 Years of Funding
Posted: April 2, 2013
The newly funded REU is in Undergraduate Research in Race, Ethnicity, and the Demography of Crime and Punishment. The REU program is a collaborative initiative between the Population Research Center and the Department of Sociology at The University of Texas at Austin. This 8 week summer program is funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation. Led by PI, Prof. David Kirk, and Co-PI, Prof Keith Robinson, the new REU focuses specifically on race, ethnicity, and the demography of crime and punishment. While completing intensive coursework in social demography, students work on their own independent research projects under the guidance of Drs. Kirk and Robinson and graduate student mentors from the Population Research Center.
This program is supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant No. SMA-1262384.
