History Department hosts "Come Back to Garrison!" celebration

Event to feature lectures and presentations by History Department faculty


The History Department plans to celebrate the re-opening of Garrison Hall and the launch of the Institute for Historical Studies with 2 days of tours, receptions, lectures, films, and exhibits. Among these are presentations by SCJS Director Robert Abzug, and SCJS faculty Denise Spellberg and David Oshinsky.

On Friday, February 1, Robert Abzug will speak on "Aaron Copland's American Dream" from 10-11 am in GAR 1.122. Denise Spellberg's lecture "The Evil Eye: What Muslims, Christians, and Jews All Feared and Why" will take place at the same time but in GAR 0.132. Later in the day, David Oshinsky will present "Arthur Miller, Norman Mailer, Woodward and Bernstein" from 3:30-5:30 pm at the Harry Ransom Center.

All events are free and open to the public.
