Hemispheres' Teachers' Summer Institute 2014: War and Conflict
Tue, June 10, 2014 • 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM • TBA
War and conflict are powerful, traumatic events in history. They can stem from multiple causes, devastate lives and economies, change the course of nations, and their effects can linger for generations after the last shots are fired. This year’s summer teacher’s institute “War and Conflict” will take a closer look at war and conflict around the world, with the partnership of the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin. In addition to a usual slate of scholar-educators who will offer content presentations on the cause, course, and long term effect of war and conflict, we’ll get an exclusive look into the exhibition “The World at War 1914-1918” and the resources it offers. You’ll leave with new insights into the topic, teaching resources, and primary source documents that you can use with your students.
Registration fees cover continental breakfast and lunch, parking, coffee, handouts, and resources. Wireless internet access can be purchased on site (details will be provided).
Registration fees are:
- $100: Registration only
