Senior Lecturer, Department of Asian Studies

Wen-Hua Teng is senior lecturer of the department of Asian Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. She holds a Ph.D. degree in foreign language education from the University of Texas, and has been teaching Chinese since 1987.  She specializes in curriculum design and pedagogical grammar of Chinese. Her current interests include technology-enhanced pedagogy and issues related to course articulation. She is the content creator of two websites, Chinese Take-In: Interactive Listening Comprehension Practice for Beginners, and Pitch Perfect Pinyin: Interactive Exercises for Mandarin Chinese Pronunciation.  She won Top Honor for Distinction in Instructional Approach in the University of Texas 2010 IITAP (Innovative Instructional Technology Award Program.)  Her book on Chinese pedagogical grammar titled Yufa!: A Practical Guide to Mandarin Chinese Grammar was published in March, 2011.
