"Memoria in Rome" Conference 4/16 to 4/18

“Memoria Romana: Functions of Roman Memory” is a conference for graduate students and junior scholars which will be held at the University of Texas at Austin from April 16-18, 2010.  All members of the public are welcome to attend.   Prof. T. P. Wiseman of the University of Exeter will be the keynote speaker.  The conference, financed by the Max Planck Research Award given to Professor Karl Galinsky (Department of Classics), will provide graduate students and junior faculty with an opportunity to examine the role of memory in diverse areas of Roman civilization.  To learn more about the event, including times and venues for the talks and for a list of the other invited speakers, please see the Memoria Romana homepage and the conference blog.
