Update -- Unfortunately, Amanda will not arrive in Austin this afternoon in time for her scheduled 4 pm colloquium due to weather delays. She is very disappointed and apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause any of you. She *will* be here all day on Friday and will have some free time between about 1-3 if anyone would like to meet with her over coffee to discuss her fascinating paper or just chat in general. Please contact Prof. Ebbeler for more info.

Contrary to our usual practice, the paper will be circulated a few days before the lecture. Dr. Wilcox will present a short overview of the paper and its major arguments and then the rest of the colloquium will be devoted to questions/discussion. We hope that many of you will be able to make this special event, even if you don't have the time to read the paper beforehand. It is sure to be a rich and stimulating discussion. As usual, cookies and coffee will be available. Please contact Prof. Ebbeler for further information or a copy of the precirculated paper.
