Virginia Grise will be reading from her newest play blu. Winner of the Yale Drama Series Award, blu follows a queer Chicana/o family as they love and war while police helicopters circle their starlit rooftop dreams. Virginia Grise is an award-winning multi-disciplinary artist who pushes against the boundaries of traditional theatre and live performance. She was awarded the Princess Grace Award in theatre directing and her published work includes The Panza Monologues (University of Texas Press, forthcoming), an edited volume of Zapatista communiqués titled Conversations with Don Durito (Autonomedia Press) and blu (Yale University Press).

A book reading and signing featuring Virginia Grise will take place at Resistencia Bookstore (1801-A South 1st Street, Austin, Texas) beginning at 7:00 p.m.
