CMAS Plática: Anissa Zamarron

In 2005, San Angelo native Anissa Zamarron defeated San Antonio’s Maribel Zurita to win her second women’s boxing world title. She then retired due to injuries. This plática will include “The Assassin” a short film by Amanda E. Gray, and questions and answers with Anissa Zamarron. W. K. “Kip” Stratton and Zamarron’s 2009 book Boxing Shadows tells the story of Anissa’s bumpy ride to champion including learning disabilities, mental illness and drug addiction. Copies of the book will be available.
