On July 7, 1901, Gregorio Cortéz was brought to the county jail in Gonzales, Texas and charged with the murder of Sheriff Richard Glover. This presentation by Professor Anne Magnussen is an analysis of the case against Cortéz within the dynamics of the town and its Anglo and Mexicano communities.
