The International Society on Infant Studies Honors Cohen with Festchrift
Publication spotlights psychologist's infant cognition research
AUSTIN, Texas -May 29, 2008- The International Society on Infant Studies (ISIS) has honored Leslie Cohen, professor of psychology, with a Festschrift, a publication highlighting the contributions he has made to the field of infant cognition.
As a researcher, Cohen has focused on perception, memory and cognition in infants, specifically how infants absorb audio and visual stimuli, process it and then integrate it into their understanding of the world. Cohen developed Habit 2000, software which is widely used by labs around the globe to analyze infant perception and cognition.
One colleague estimated that one-third of the researchers at the society's international conference owed part of their findings to his research.
Under his leadership as a former president of the society, Cohen helped organize international conferences that grew in prominence by attracting the world's foremost researchers of infant studies.
Cohen also has been honored as a fellow of the American Psychological Society and three divisions of the American Psychological Association.
