The Thomas Jefferson Center for the Study of Core Texts and Ideas

The Jefferson Junior Fellows Program

The Jefferson Junior Fellows Program provides intellectual and social opportunities for honors students who are pursuing the Certificate Program in Core Texts and Ideas. Junior Fellows have the opportunity to take part in lunches with faculty, receptions with visiting scholars, coffee hours, and other events planned by the fellows themselves. Each semester, 10 or more book prizes of $250 will be awarded to applicants for the Junior Fellows Program with the highest grade point averages.

To qualify for the program, students must have completed at least four semesters of college coursework, must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, and must be enrolled in at least one course that qualifies for the Program in Core Texts and Ideas. A list of these courses may be found under qualifying courses. Preference will be given to students who are on track to graduate with the CTI Certificate.

JSP peer mentors who have completed four semesters of coursework automatically qualify both for admission to the Junior Fellows program and for the book prize, but must still apply in order to receive the book prize.
