Daniel Heath Justice will discuss his course First Nations Literatures: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Two-Spirited Native Writers , and his research and teaching at the intersections of indigenous studies and queer studies. Daniel Heath Justice is an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation, and wasraised in the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains in that part of the Uteterritory now known as Victor, Colorado. He teaches Indigenous North Americanliteratures and Aboriginal studies at the University of Toronto. He is theauthor of Kynship, the first volume of the Way of Thorn and Thunder trilogy,with all volumes to be published by Kegedonce Press. He is also the author ofOur Fire Survives the Storm: A Cherokee Literary History, forthcoming from University of Minnesota Press in May 2006.
