Japan Seminar, "Robo sapiens japanicus: Humanoid Robots and the Posthuman Family"

Professor Jennifer Robertson, Professor of Anthropology and Japan specialist at the University of Michigan, will be speaking on October 22nd at 3:30 p.m. on "Robo sapiens japanicus: Humanoid Robots and the Posthuman Family."

She will also be meeting with interested graduate students earlier that day at 1:30 p.m. at WCH 4.118. We welcome all those interested in attending to take advantage of this opportunity. Robertson is the author of an article entitled "Japan's First Cyborg? Miss Nippon, Eugenics and Wartime Technologies of Beauty, Body and Blood" that prefigures her current research and will be a subject of discussion in that meeting.
