CWGS Student and Faculty Awards were presented at the 2014 Annual Awards reception on May 6, 2014
Lucia, John, and Melissa Gilbert Teaching Excellence Award in WGS - Given to a faculty member with an outstanding record of undergraduate and/or graduate teaching in Women's and Gender Studies courses.

Winner: Hector Dominguez-Ruvalcaba (Department of Spanish and Portuguese)
Cynthia Walker Peña Scholarship - In Recognition of Outstanding Record of Service and Scholarship in Women's and Gender Studies.

Winner: Karen Michelle Duke (Women's & Gender Studies)
The Lora Romero Memorial Award for Interdisciplinary Research in Race, Ethnicity and Gender - To honor and support students investigating the intersections between race, ethnicity and gender.

Winner: Oluwakanyinsola ("Kanyinsola") Oluwademilade Obayan (Double major in International Relations and Global Studies; African and African American Studies), "State Violence, Radical Protest and the black/African Female Body"
Ellen Clarke Temple Award In the Study of Women in History - For the study of the women in American history, particularly in Texas or the Southwest.

Winner: Lady Anima Adjepong (Sociology), "Imagined lives in diaspora: Gender, race, and sexuality in the lives of black African women immigrants to the United States"
Women's and Gender Studies Dissertation Fellowship - Given to deserving graduate students who are doing research on a feminist or gender-related topic.
