The experiences of Black/African American students on the University of Texas at Austin campus have recently been in the spotlight. Incidents of racism in the wake of the Fisher v. Texas Supreme Court hearing on affirmative action combined with a glass ceiling of 5% for admission of African American students invites us to engage in thoughtful conversation about the past, present, and future state of Blacks at UT.
