The 2013 African and African Diaspora Studies Visiting Performing Artist

In this workshop, participants will experience jazz through the lens of an accomplished musician while exploring their own understandings of jazz.   Activities will include, but are not limited to, a discussion of the Miles Davis’s 1970 studio double album, “Bitches Brew.”  The album continues Davis’s exploration with electric instruments and a rock-influenced improvisational style.
