Biography

CAPTAIN MICHAEL A. ARGUELLO

Captain Michael A. Arguello entered the Air Force as a 2003 graduate from Air Force ROTC Detachment 155, University of Miami, FL. During his first assignment at the Air Force Flight Test Center, Edwards AFB, CA he was the Lead Operations Officer for the X-37 Approach and Landing Test Vehicle flight test program. The flight test program successfully completed its maiden flight in 2006 demonstrating the experimental vehicle’s capability to land autonomously. Captain Arguello was selected as a graduate student to attend the Air Force Institute of Technology. He completed the Aeronautical Engineering program and was assigned to the Air Force Research Laboratory Directed Energy Directorate.  There he helped to advance the modeling and simulation capabilities of the High Power Microwave Division.

Captain Arguello is currently assigned as Education Officer and Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies, Air Force ROTC Detachment 825, The University of Texas at Austin. He instructs the senior-level National Security Affairs and Current Issues/Preparation for Active Duty courses.
