On December 15th 2011, Detachment 825 commissioned Second Lieutenant Kevin Stout into the United States Air Force. Lt Stout graduated from The University of Texas with a near-perfect 3.99 GPA and was the recipient of many academic and ROTC awards during his time at UT. None is more prestigious than the coveted Lt Gen Eickmann Award which is bestowed upon the top UT AFROTC graduate each academic year--this year it went to one of the finest cadets to ever walk the halls of UT.
Shortly after commissioinng, Lt Stout and his beautiful bride, Andrea, departed Texas for Boston, where the newly-minted lieutenant will attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to pursue his Ph.D. in engineering. He will be the Systems Engineer for an instrument aboard NASA's OSIRIS-Rex mission, an asteroid sample return mission. In his own words, the "AF is awesome so far." We couldn't have said it better.
Blue skies, Lt Stout!
